Symbolism of Superhero Costumes

Symbolism may be the most vital feature of a superhero's costume.
Most often, the most widespread reason that we wear the costume is primarily for the symbolism. The attire allows us to be transmuted into another person completely - a superhero. By becoming this other character, we can shed the burden of our past selves and start once again. In starting over, we are permitted to figure ourselves to signify a cause - and become a symbol for the world.
You'll soon see that the effects of such a representation are amazing. When handing out food to the poor or volunteering at a local shelter, you will find complete strangers approaching you to ask what precisely it is that you are. People who would have else gone on about their day without taking a second to stop abruptly will participate in a discussion with a real life superhero!
A lot of them were curious, want to know more, and, most of all- they'll want to know how they can help after they questioned, "Superheroes we've frequently seen on comics and television actually is existing, what do you mean by that?".
Like the Batmobile in a parking lot, a True Life SuperHero stands out in a mass of people. When they see us walking among them, individuals in society are so used to linking superheroes with the pages of comic books or the screens of movie theaters that. They respond as though they have spotted the Loch Ness monster taking a turn down the main street. This is in the long run where we draw some of our utmost power from as a superhero - the skill to draw attention to what it is we represent.
While no doubt a few will be skeptical and, maybe, even hostile, far more frequently people will gasp in doubt, choke back a torrent of hopeful tears, toss their arms around you and hug you too firmly, repeating all over again, "I knew to myself that superheroes were really existing in this world!"

With this attention comes great duty and obligation. You should be prepared to not only inspire these individuals, but to also have vents and resources that tell them how to get involved if they are fascinated.
But occasionally being that symbol also offers chances to help in addition to inspiring others. One specific story that comes to mind happened during a road trip from NY to New Orleans for the second yearly conference of Superheroes Anonymous.
On this journey, 10 superheroes heaped into an R.V. and set off from New York, picking up heroes all along the way to New Orleans. At every single gas station and at every restaurant the superheroes would be robed in full regalia, provoking questions and gazes in equal measure.
However, while stopped in West Virginia to replenish on snacks and to stretch our legs, you were marked down by a lady across the streets who saw the banner on the R.V. which obviously read as "GREAT SUPERHEROES ANONYMOUS: SAVE THE UNIVERSE, SAVE LIVES." When several groups of robed superheroes lazing around are seen and this astonishing banner, the lady started to make a wave at us yelling "Are you people really superheroes?!"
We crossed the street to speak and talk to her and see what's up, telling the lady "We are certainly superheroes. Real Life Superheroes to be precise."
"Oh thank you God!" she shouted before going on to clear up, saying "My whole family just migrated in this town and enjoy living in to this house behind me but there's a wild squirrel inside. I've called the animal control and the police force but nobody has come to help!"
Well, she was in luck because not only did we aid her remove the squirrel but we were also able to assist her fix a hole in her fence as well so her dogs couldn't escape. When all was said and done she embraced the superheroes and gave a weepy "farewell" and wanted us a safe journey to New Orleans. She has kept in touch with us to this time.
The theme of this story is that without the superhero costumes, she certainly not would have known that she could turn to us for help. In that way, wearing your superhero costumes can turn you into a mainstay on which people in need will lean.
